Rehabilitation/Redeployment Programmes

Benefits of rehabilitation and redeployment programmes

Wherever possible, the rehabilitation or redeployment of an employee is of course preferable to ill health retirement. The employee benefits from being able to return to work while the company is able to retain valued and motivated employees and avoid the financial implications of ill health retirement.

Our strategy

Early intervention is vital: the sooner action is taken, the better the chances are of an employee making speedy and sustained return to work.

Our occupational health practitioners work closely with the employee and key stakeholders within the company to pinpoint any changes that could be made to the job role, the hours of work or working environment, to enable the individual to effect a successful return to work.

Working in partnership

In addition to liaising with the employee’s primary or specialist care providers we may, on occasion, recommend and facilitate secondary intervention in the guise of psychological or physical therapy, such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.

We recommend that our rehabilitation and redeployment strategies are employed as part of a wider sickness absence management programme, but do also offer them as standalone services where required.
